It’s almost that time of the year again when we set out goals for the coming New Year, otherwise called New Year’s resolutions.
The question is how many of us are actually able to follow through with these resolutions? Most of us set really high and unrealistic goal and wish they happen like magic.
Those resolutions fail as soon as they are made mainly because we fail to do them as a daily routine. Below are five New Year’s resolutions I’m sure if followed religiously, will make a big change in your life.
1) Never Ever Compare Yourself To Others
Focus your attention and energy on improving and being a better you. Comparing and trying to be like others is a sure way to lose your identity.
In today’s world where there is so much to see on social media especially from celebrities, it’s easy to want to have a backside as large as that of Amber Rose or have a body like Chris Helmsworth.
You need to realize that everyone is created differently and find joy and happiness in being who you are while living your life in a way that makes you happy.
2) Chase Your Dreams Relentlessly
They say follow your dreams, I say chase it – relentlessly! Is there anything you would like to achieve in the New Year? Perhaps you would like to travel to a particular country, read a particular book, or get in shape, the time is now!
Include this in your resolution for the New Year and be sure to follow it through. Make a list of all the steps you will need to take to make your dream a reality and take the first step.
The first step is always the hardest but once it is taken, you’re definitely on your way to achieving your dream.
3) Associate Only With The Right People
If you are going to make any headway in life and succeed faster, you’ll definitely need the help of someone. Ensure that someone is the right person. Is there anything in particular that you hope to achieve?
Associate with people that help you achieve that. Do you want to get ripped or get in shape? Become friends with a gym instructor.
Also, do not allow people with negative mindsets dampen your spirit and dissuade you from achieving set goals for yourself. Spend time with positive minded people and you end up having a positive mindset too.
4) Drink A Glass Of Water At Regular Intervals
It’s a known fact that our body is made up of 60% water. During our everyday activity, we exert energy and water escapes from our bodies mainly through perspiration.
Learn to drink a lot of water to replenish lost body fluids so that the body can continue to work and perform optimally. Insufficient water in the body can lead to quite a number of sicknesses and diseases both internal and external.
Drinking enough water keeps the body enriched and refreshed at all times.
5) Go Out A Bit More
Get off your butt and go out a little more. Stop being a lazy couch potato and be a little out-going. There is so much to see and watch online especially in the social media.
The temptation to lounge around a bit more and chat with friends and family on the phone is always there but you have to resist this urge and be a little more outgoing. Stop watching other people live their lives and start living yours.
Hang out with friends, meet new people, ask that pretty girl out, take him out for coffee. In the end, these activities become memories which are then cherished forever.
