“East Side Best Side”
If you’re staying anywhere in the West, you’ve likely heard your east-residing friends brag about how much good food there is, and the abundance of cool, trendy cafes available in the east.
But fear not West siders – for in recent months, the West of Singapore has seen a slew of new, affordable coffee spots open up for that upcoming Phase 3 gathering, or a weekend coffee.
In this article we’ll be covering 3 NEW cafe hangouts you can visit in the West, and the best part is,
These places are EXTREMELY affordable so don’t worry about shelling out $20 for ice cream and coffee – or bursting your wallet!
1. Burnt Cones
Nestled comfortably in the Clementi neighbourhood of Sunset Way, Burnt Cones offers a wide range of gelato flavours served in a cup as well as their signature smoky-flavoured cones and waffles!
Flavours range from all-time favourites such as Tiramisu, Strawberry Basil, and Earl Grey to more unique flavours such as their Stracciamenta (Mint Chocolate), Scamorza (Smoked Cheese), and 85% Dark Chocolate!
They give an extremely generous portion for just under $5, with takeaway pints going for slightly over $12!
Coffee is also available with beans sourced and roasted from popular town coffee-spot Glyph, making it the perfect drink to pair with your gelato!
Artisanal coffee together with great ice cream went for just over $10 for me, making it extremely affordable compared to a trip to Curious Palette.
So if you’re looking for a cheap coffee or ice cream date and you’re in the area, Burnt cones is definitely a must-go!
Burnt Cones is located at 105 Clementi Street 12, #01-02, Singapore 120105
Opening Hours: 7AM-12AM Daily.
You can check them out on Facebook or on Instagram: @burntcones
2. Venture Drive Coffee
Just a short 10 minute walk from Jurong East MRT will land you in possibly the coolest – and one of the most affordable cafes in the west!
Venture Coffee is situated on the 2nd level of the Vision Exchange building, with coffees ranging from $4.50 – $6.50 & up to $10 for their specialty drip coffee.
JNow what makes Venture unique is that typically, you’d expect to find such cafes among other atas type eateries,
Where you’d have to fork out $16-$20 for a brunch-type meal.
But with its location, it’s surrounded by extremely affordable food options, ranging from Nasi Lemak to Thai, Korean and even Vegetarian food!
So it’s easy to enjoy a meal in any of the surrounding eateries before a quick hop over to this chic, minimalist cafe,
And treating yourself to enjoy a cold (or hot) coffee away from the hustle and bustle of the JEM-JCube-Westgate crowd.
Venture Coffee is located at Address: #02-41, Vision Exchange, 608526
Opening Hours: 9am-5pm on Mon-Fri and 10AM-6PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
You can check them out on Facebook or on Instagram: @venturedrivecoffee
3. Glass Roasters + GelatoLabo
Our final stop brings us to a rather off-the-track location, in the private estate of Faber Drive!
Coffee experts Glass Roasters and one of Singapore’s chic-est ice-cream places Gelatolabo come together in a shared, spacious location you must visit if you’re in the West.
Coffees go for $4.50 onwards from Glass, with Gelatolab serving both dairy and vegan options from $6 and up!
You do have to order at their respective counters, but with such a comfortable & well-decorated space, this is one spot you definitely won’t mind traveling or spending more time in!
Now unlike Venture and Burnt Cones, Glass actually serves craft beers and wine up until their closing time, making it a perfect spot to chill with a drink, or ice cream anytime of the day.
Glass Roasters & GelatoLabo are located at 108 Faber Dr, Singapore 129418.
Opening Hours: 9AM-10PM on weekdays (Closed on Wednesday) and 9AM-10:30PM on Saturday and Sunday.

If you’re a West-Sider, you’ll definitely want to take time to explore with so many new options open,
And even more so because cheap coffee dates are no longer restricted to town and the east!
